The new school year is about to begin and children will be walking to school, riding the bus and riding bikes. Please drive safely near school and school bus stops. Please be respectful of parking restrictions and be extra careful when dropping off and picking up your children at school. Thank you!

The bus stop arrival time provided to District 205 families is an estimate and not a perfect measurement. There is a 10 minute window either side of the approximate time of arrival, depending on traffic and weather conditions. First Student urges students to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the approximate scheduled pickup time.

Bus transportation is available to students residing at a distance of 1.5 miles or more from school, measured by the shortest and safest walking distance between home and school.  Elmhurst 205 uses a specialized transportation software with maps from the County to determine walking distance.  Students are also eligible for free transportation if their walking route includes a hazardous condition or crossing, as determined by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Regular bus transportation is provided through a contract with First Student of Villa Park.  Transportation for students with IEP's requiring special bus arrangements is provided by Cottage Hill Transportation Co.

Parents who have questions or concerns regarding bus routes, problems at bus stops, or student discipline on the bus should contact the student's school principal to discuss. 

In continued partnership with our transportation provider, First Student, Elmhurst Community Unit School 205 is launching FirstView®, a bus tracking and parent communications app for your smartphone or desktop.

  The FirstView® map screen shows you the live location and direction of your student’s bus, your student's stop schedule for the current day and timestamps for school arrivals and departures. You’ll know when the bus gets to school in the morning and leaves in the afternoon!

  Analyzing route and real-time GPS data, it determines an estimated time of arrival to your stop provided on the FirstView® map. 

• Custom Alerts and Messages
  Set up push or email notifications alerting you when your student's bus is a chosen distance or number of minutes away from your stop. 

• Multi-Stop View
  Buses for all your students can be tracked with FirstView®. Using individual colors for each student, every selected stop appears on the map simultaneously for easy viewing.

• Additional User Notifications
  Connect up to three additional email accounts to receive email alerts. This is a great feature for grandparents or caregivers!

• Secure and Easy Access
  FirstView® requires a password-protected account for app set-up. This way, only you can view your student’s stop!
